Luxembourg’s AI-powered social media analytics company Talkwalker has been acquired by global Private Equity firm Marlin Equity Partners.

Talkwalker’s platform monitors and analyzes conversations on social networks, news websites, blogs and forums in 187 languages, allowing the customers to prove the impact of their communication efforts through real-time analytics across all channels, putting customers in full control of performance measurement, brand reputation and promotion.

Launched in 2009, the company reportedly has over 1000 clients. Marquee names include Merk, Microsoft, VW, BASF and Deloitte.

Robert Glaesener, CEO of Talkwalker expounds, “We are excited to partner with Marlin as we enter a new phase of development as the leading provider of listening and analytics to the PR and marketing industry. Our focus on AI-powered features, global expansion and strategic acquisitions should provide our clients with a major competitive edge and ensures that they have access to the best technology on the market to protect, measure and promote their brands worldwide.”

“Talkwalker’s founders and management team will continue running the business and Marlin will bring added value and advice based on their many years of experience in the industry,” a company spokesperson said.

The company had raised a €5 Million funding from Main Mezzanine Capital in early 2017.
