HSBC Announces Final Close of REGIO Gem Bond Fund

HSBC Asset Management and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) announced the final close of the HSBC Real Economy Green Investment Opportunity GEM Bond Fund (REGIO) at USD 538 Mn to boost access to climate finance, and further development in the green bond market. Investors of the fund include Proparco, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A. (CDP), Verka VK Kirchliche Vorsorge, Gothaer Asset Management, Lærernes Pension, Versorgungswerk der Apothekerkammer Westfalen-Lippe, AVIVA France and Cardif Assurance Vie.

REGIO aims to provide access to capital markets for investors who may lack the capability to invest in individual green bond transactions. It will invest in green bonds by private companies based in emerging countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
