Kenya’s Car & General Invests USD 3.65 Mn In New Motorcycle Helmet Plan

Car & General (C&G), an automotive equipment distributor, has invested UD 3.65 Mn in a new motorcycle helmet manufacturing in Ruiru, Kenya, to expand its share of the Kenyan bike accessories market.

According to the company, the plant, which employs around 150 people and covers 40,000 square feet, has a capacity of 768,000 helmets each year, with ambitions to grow output to 1.2 million by 2022. The firm estimates that the new plant will raise at least USD 1.5 Mn in revenue by the close of 2021.
