Kampala-based Spouts International, a prominent East African manufacturer and distributor of ceramic water filters under the Purifaaya brand, raised USD 3 M. Incofin, a private equity firm invested through its Water Access Acceleration Fund (W2AF).
The funding will support Spouts International’s mission to enhance clean water access across the region and further develop its carbon credit initiatives. These projects include providing Purifaaya ceramic water filters and improved cookstoves to households in Uganda and Rwanda with limited financial resources.
Founded in 2017 by Daniel Yin, Spouts International utilizes locally sourced materials to produce cost-effective ceramic water filters, offering a practical solution to water purification challenges. This investment will enable the company to scale its operations and broaden its impact, particularly in underserved communities.
