UK and U.S. based Highview Power raised USD 70 Mn to distribute its electricity storage services in Africa from Janus Continental Group (JCG) investment arm Janus Capital, Sumitomo Heavy Industries (SHI) and Spanish group TSK. As part of the investment Janus Capital acquired a minority stake for USD 13 Mn. The initial investors and founders of Highview Power invested USD 5 Mn with the remaining amounts invested by SHI and TSK.
Operating in London and New York, Highview Power specialises in electricity storage services. Highview Power aims to use the investment of USD 70 Mn to launch its services in Africa.
