Dayra, an Egyptian fintech startup, has raised USD 3 Mn in a pre-seed round which comes as a combination of debt and equity funding. The investors include Tanmiya Capital Ventures, EFG EV, EFG Hermes, as well as several angel investors. The startup also got selected into Y Combinator’s Winter 2021 batch, securing USD 125 K in seed funding and further support.
Launched in 2020, Dayra provides financial services to unbanked gig-workers and businesses through APIs and its mobile app. The platform offers digital bank accounts, prepaid cards, loans and credit access to users.
