The Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Cooling and Cold Chain (ACES), a cooling centre based in Rwanda, received USD 3.5 Mn funding from the UK’s Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA). This funding will help ACES boost operations and support the centre’s design and technology kit-out.
Established in 2020, ACES aims to develop and accelerate uptake of sustainable cold chain solutions in the agriculture and health sectors. It helps African farmers get their produce speedily to the market, reducing food waste, increasing profits and generating jobs opportunities.
