Adenia Partners Acquires Africa Biosystems Limited

Adenia Partners, a private equity firm investing in Africa, has announced it has completed the acquisition of Africa Biosystems Limited (ABL), a leading distributor of life sciences and clinical diagnostics equipment in East Africa. The deal’s financial specifics were not disclosed.

ABL’s equipment are utilized in animal, human, and crop research and diagnosis, with product applications spanning molecular, cell, and protein biology, as well as DNA forensics. Government and non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, and the corporate sector are just a few of ABL’s clientele.

Adenia and ABL will collaborate to grow Adenia’s activities in East Africa’s core markets, with an emphasis on increasing the installed base of scientific instruments. Adenia will also assist ABL in establishing a new management structure and improving its systems and procedures in order to better capitalize on prospects in the life sciences market.
