SmartHotel, a hospitality software startup, has raised USD 1 Mn in a Pre-series A round of funding to expand its services across Africa and Europe. Existing investor Smok Ventures led the round of funding, which also included LT Capital Ventures and Next Road Ventures. Wiktor Schmidt, co-owner of Netguru (one of Europe’s largest software development companies), and Mirosaw Janik, former Vice President of Wincor Nixdorf Group, are among the others in the round.
SmartHotel interfaces with hotel management systems, allowing for speedy handling of issues relating to visitors’ stay on-site, lowering the number of phone calls to the front desk, simplifying procedures, and ultimately saving time and money for hotel owners and managers.
The startup plans to use the new investment to improve further its software, which provides contact-free and easy communication with guests in hotels and apartments in Nigeria, Tanzania, Poland, and South Africa, as well as to extend to other countries of Africa and Europe, as well as the United Kingdom.
