SweepSouth, an online home services platform with a presence across Africa, today announced that it has completed a USD 11 Mn investment round led by Alitheia IDF (AIF), Africa’s first and largest gender-lens private equity fund. The round included existing investors like Naspers Foundry, The Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, Futuregrowth Asset Management, and new investors Endeavor Catalyst, Endeavor’s Harvest Fund II, Caruso Ventures, and E4E Africa.
SweepSouth is a cleaning service company that connects clients to on-demand domestic cleaners via an online booking platform. Its easy-to-use online platform offers a list of pre-vetted, trustworthy domestic workers for clients to choose from, and this newest feature underscores the company’s ethos of offering quick, convenient solutions.
The round of funding will allow the company to further develop and grow its infrastructure and team in South Africa, roll out new services in existing markets, and pursue both greenfield expansions and acquisitions across the African continent and beyond.
