Senegalese Startup Kwely Wins MEST Africa Challenge

MEST Africa has announced Senegalese tech startup Kwely as the winner of the 2022 edition of the MEST Africa Challenge (MAC); a pan-African tech startup pitch competition. The startup will receive USD 50 K in equity investment and access to expert business coaches, mentors, and global investors. 

The female-founded startup emerged as the winner out of four other startup finalists from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa. The announcement was made at the Demo Day and Final Pitch Competition held in Accra to culminate a four-month period of shortlisting over 500 tech startups from 5 African countries.

Kwely focuses on the development of existing and new brands with local suppliers in order to get to export-ready status, a proprietary platform to support B2B wholesale transactions on the global market, and a packaging studio to provide the services needed to deliver products that meet international standards.
