Nigerian Startup Wicrypt Network Wins USD 150 K At Leap Tech Conference

Wicrypt Network, a blockchain-based WiFi sharing network from Africa, announced the passing of 1,000 hotspot hubs across the world and winning the Global Prize at LEAP 2023 Rocket Fuel Pitch Startup Competition. The Hotspot Hubs are currently located in over 30 countries, including five in Africa, and over 100 cities. Wicrypt also secured USD 150 K as part of being the competition winner at the Saudi Arabian tech event and conference. The LEAP Tech Conference is organized by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones, and Informa Tech. 

Wicrypt is a decentralized mobile internet sharing and monetization network, allowing anyone to get paid for sharing their WiFi. Wicrypt has built a peer-to-peer infrastructure for sharing mobile internet data without the need for third-party integration. WiFi can be shared via Wicrypt’s custom, affordable Hotspot Creator, while providers can tailor unique experiences, including surveys and ads, while collecting customer data.
