Seedstars, Fondation Botnar Launch USD 20 M African Youth Wellbeing Venture Fund

Seedstars Capital and Fondation Botnar have announced the launch of the Seedstars Youth Wellbeing Ventures mandate, intending to invest USD 20 M in early-stage, purpose-driven companies aiming to improve the wellbeing of young people in low- and middle-income countries across the continent.


The collaboration between these two entities gives rise to Seedstars Youth Wellbeing Ventures, a venture with a budget of USD 20 M. Its primary focus will be on supporting pre-seed to Series A companies operating in various sectors, including health services, environmental sustainability, local food security, water and sanitation, waste management, digital technologies, quality education, access to employment, financial services, safe transportation, and affordable housing.Seedstars Youth Wellbeing Ventures will catalyze capital inflow into Africa and co-invest with like-minded investors. Its investments will prioritize Tanzania, Ghana, Senegal, Morocco, and Egypt, fostering growth and expansion in these regions.
