South African Mobility Startup WhereIsMyTransport Closes Down

South African mobility startup WhereIsMyTransport has closed down after failing to secure the necessary funding to continue operating. The company, which was active in South Africa and Mexico, raised a USD 14.5 M Series A extension round from investors including Naspers Foundry, taking total funding to more than USD 27 M.

WhereIsMyTransport is a big data platform that links and collects data and integrates it on its open data platform for sustainable transport in emerging markets. Cities use its products to coordinate and monitor services, operators use it to integrate their systems, and passengers use it via apps and endpoints connected to the WhereIsMyTransport platform.
