HyperionDev, a South African-headquartered tech education provider, has announced raising R95 million (5 million), bringing its total growth investment to R595 million (USD 31.1 M). The edtech platform has yet to disclose the investors who participated in the latest funding.
Founded in 2012 by Riaz Moola, HyperionDev provides specialized, mentored coding boot camps online and on-site at its campuses to equip students with job-ready tech skills for careers in technology. The startup’s mission to make tech education accessible to the world, Moola assures that HyperionDev will keep focusing on enhancing its impact in its home country of South Africa.
Parts of the capital will also go towards expanding the edtech startup into new markets and increasing access to relevant tech education for all learners on the platform. The company also noted that the money will help it expand its educational offerings and scholarship programs, such as the HyperionDev Academy.
