NBA Africa Announces USD 200K at Triple-Double Accelerator Demo Day

NBA Africa has announced the four prize-winning startups from its inaugural “NBA Africa Triple-Double Accelerator” at a Demo Day held at the NBA headquarters in New York City. The accelerator, designed to empower African startups in events management, youth development, AI, and digital marketing, saw 10 finalists from seven African countries present their innovative solutions to a panel of international industry leaders.

Out of over 700 early-stage African startups that applied, the following four companies emerged as the top winners:

  1. Festival Coins (Nigeria): Awarded USD 50 K for its customizable event registration platform, Tix Africa.
  2. Salubata (Nigeria): Secured USD 40 K for creating modular shoes made from plastic waste.
  3. HustleSasa (Kenya): Received USD 30 K for comprehensive live event services.
  4. UBR VR (Egypt): Won USD 20 K for delivering immersive virtual reality experiences.

The six other finalists each received USD 10 K for their innovative contributions.

Paystack Payments Ltd., Kuramo Capital Management, and the Nigerian University of Technology and Management supported the Demo Day.
