Conservio, a South African online booking platform for nature-based getaways, has raised USD 1 M in a pre-seed funding round, led by E4E Africa, with participation from Volve Capital, Living Hope Ventures, and angel investors like Payfast founder Jonathan Smith.
Founded in 2020, Conservio connects travelers with over 500 eco-conscious accommodations across South Africa, Mozambique, and Namibia, offering stylish escapes that support conservation and rural job creation.
With this funding, the platform aims to expand to 2,000 properties, grow its customer base, and solidify its position as the go-to brand for nature-based travel in Southern Africa.
“We’re excited to partner with E4E Africa to scale our mission of using tourism as a force for good, channeling revenue to protect habitats and inspire environmental stewardship,” said CEO and co-founder Lara Dendy Young.
Backed by investors committed to sustainable growth, Conservio is poised to transform African ecotourism by combining convenience with impact.
