Livelihood Impact Fund Backs Tanzanian Agri-tech Startup MazaoHub
Livelihood Impact Fund Backs Tanzanian Agri-tech Startup MazaoHub

MazaoHub Agclimate Ltd, a Tanzanian agri-tech startup transforming smallholder farming, has secured undisclosed funding from the Livelihood Impact Fund to scale its precision agriculture solutions and sustainable farming initiatives.

This funding builds on MazaoHub’s mission to empower rural farmers through:

  • Affordable Precision Agriculture: Solar-powered soil sensors deliver real-time analytics, enabling farmers to optimise yields and reduce input costs.
  • Actionable Insights: A user-friendly platform translates soil data into tailored farming recommendations.
  • Hyperlocal Support: Farmer Excellence Centers provide in-person guidance to rural communities.

Since its inception in 2021, MazaoHub has supported over 14,000 farmers, improving productivity, reducing fertilizer use, and fostering sustainable practices. This latest funding will enhance access to precision tools, strengthen food security, and improve livelihoods in underserved farming regions. The latest funding follows last year’s USD 200 K raise.

Catalyst Fund, a prior investor following last year’s funding injection, lauds MazaoHub’s scalable approach to democratising precision agriculture, paving the way for expansion across Africa. With a strong foundation in soil analytics and a “tech and touch” model, MazaoHub aims to redefine farming in emerging markets, empowering millions of smallholder farmers to thrive in the face of climate challenges.
