Inua Capital, a Ugandan private equity impact investment firm, has announced its equity investment in Flow Uganda (Flow), the Ugandan operations of Flow Global, a tech-enabled microfinancier focused on driving financial inclusion among rural and peri-urban micro-entrepreneurs in Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, and Madagascar.
Since its establishment in 2018, Flow Global has provided credit to empower underserved communities, addressing critical liquidity needs and supporting the growth of micro and small enterprises, including mobile money agents and other micro-entrepreneurs.
In Uganda alone, Flow has financed over 20,000 micro-entrepreneurs, the majority of whom are women and youth. Most of these clients, located in rural and peri-urban areas, are accessing credit for the first time.
By supporting these entrepreneurs, Flow Global is fostering economic growth, with each client creating an average of one new job annually, contributing to thousands of new, decent jobs across the country. Nitin Garg and Michael Rothe started Flow with the mission to empower and enable growth for small businesses globally
With Inua Capital’s investment, Flow Global, which had previously raised a bridge round in 2023, plans to scale its services beyond Uganda, expanding its impact across Africa. The partnership underscores Inua Capital’s commitment to leveraging financial inclusion as a catalyst for socio-economic development.
By unlocking opportunities and creating jobs at the grassroots level, Flow Global and Inua Capital aim to transform lives and build stronger communities across the continent.
