NjiaPay, a payments-as-a-service provider for African businesses, has successfully completed an oversubscribed pre-seed funding round, raising over USD 1 M. The round was led by HAVAÍC, with contributions from angel investors, including the founders of Anyfin, Banxware, and Maxidrive.
Launched in late 2024, NjiaPay is a spin-off from Talk360, an international calling app. The company addresses the operational and technical challenges faced by African businesses in managing payments across the continent. By serving as a smart aggregator of payment service providers (PSPs), NjiaPay offers a unified checkout experience and centralized merchant portal to streamline payment operations.
NjiaPay’s platform leverages intelligent routing, fraud protection, and AI-driven technology to optimise payment transactions, ensuring higher conversion rates and reduced costs for businesses. With its services currently available in Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa, the company plans to expand its offerings and scale operations across Africa in 2025.
Co-founder Jonatan Allback emphasised that the funding will help NjiaPay scale its team and enhance its platform. Rob Heath, partner at HAVAÍC, highlighted the platform’s potential to streamline payment management and drive growth in Africa’s digital economy. Talk360’s Hans Osnabrugge praised NjiaPay’s impact on improving conversion rates, contributing to significant revenue growth for businesses.
