Madica Invests USD 800 K In Four African Startups, Debuts In North Africa
Madica Invests USD 800 K In Four African Startups, Debuts In North Africa

Madica, the Africa-focused pre-seed investment program, has announced an USD 800 K investment in four tech-enabled startups from Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Tanzania. Each startup has received up to USD 200 K and will benefit from Madica’s 18-month investment program, which includes hands-on mentorship, executive coaching, and global networking opportunities.

The new portfolio includes Medikea (Tanzania), a digital healthcare platform enhancing primary care access; Motherbeing (Egypt), an AI-driven FemTech platform providing reproductive health and wellness services for Arab women; Pixii Motors (Tunisia), an electric mobility startup developing eco-friendly transport solutions; and ToumAI (Morocco), which leverages AI-powered voice analytics for African languages to improve customer experience.

This investment marks Madica’s debut in North Africa and emphasises its commitment to supporting underrepresented founders and underserved markets across various sectors, including AI, healthcare, mobility, and FemTech.

Since its launch in 2022, Madica—affiliated with global VC firm Flourish Ventures—has sought to bridge Africa’s startup funding gap by offering not only capital but also structured operational and strategic support to early-stage companies. The latest investments add to Madica’s expanding portfolio having first announced its first set of investments in three startups last April: Kola Market (Ghana), GoBEBA (Kenya), and NewForm Foods (South Africa).

Madica’s investment program provides selected startups with a tailored curriculum, immersion trips to key startup hubs like Cape Town and London, and access to investors for follow-on funding. The program has also onboarded experienced entrepreneur Yoeal Haile as a mentor to support founders in scaling their businesses.

With a portfolio now spanning eight African countries and prioritising gender diversity in leadership, Madica continues to back mission-driven startups solving critical challenges.
