Senegal Healthtech Eyone Wins Africa’s Business Heroes, Gets USD 300 K Prize

Senegalese e-health startup Eyone has emerged as the winner of the Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH) competition, securing USD 300 K in prize money. The competition, backed by the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Philanthropy, aims to recognise and support outstanding African entrepreneurs.

Founded in 2015 by Henri Ousmane Gueye (Co-Founder & CEO) and John Paul Diatta (Co-Founder & COO) to enhance medical interoperability, Eyone has developed a platform that allows healthcare professionals and patients to access real-time medical records, improving efficiency and continuity of care.

The latest ABH edition saw 20,000 applications from across 54 African countries, with 10 finalists selected last October. Eyone took the top spot, while Morocco’s Green Watech placed second, earning USD 25 K, and Kenya’s Solutech secured third place with USD 150 K.

Eyone’s CEO Gueye celebrated the win as a major milestone, emphasising the team’s dedication to addressing critical healthcare challenges in Africa. The ABH prize not only provides funding but also mentorship, training, and networking opportunities, positioning Eyone for further impact and expansion.
