Six African startups have been awarded a total of USD 400 K in catalytic funding as winners of the 2025 FINCA Ventures Prize, which recognises innovation in fintech for financial inclusion and climate-smart agriculture.
The competition attracted over 300 applicants, with first-place winners receiving USD 100 K each:
Esther Kimani, Farmer Lifeline Technologies (climate-smart agriculture)
Foluso Ojo, truQ (fintech for financial inclusion)
Second-place winners received USD 60 K, and third-place winners USD 40 K, supporting ventures like Silo Africa, Cladfy, Karpolax, and 10mg Health.
