African startups have swept top honours at the 15th Orange Social Ventures Prize (OSVP), clinching a combined EUR 80 K (USD 92 K) for innovations driving inclusion and sustainability across the continent.
Leading the pack was Moroccan agritech Sand to Green, which won the EUR 25 K (USD 29 K) grand prize for its regenerative agroforestry platform that transforms desert land into profitable green farms.
DRC’s E-Blood Bank Makila secured second place (EUR 15 K/USD 17 K) for digitising blood donations through hospitals, drones, and mobile payments. At the same time, Ivory Coast’s N’Zassa Fund took third (EUR 10 K/USD 12 K) with a gamified micro-donation app supporting local NGOs.
Tunisia’s Proverdy earned the EUR 20 K Women’s Prize for its AI platform helping firms measure and cut carbon emissions, and Botswana’s Maarifa won the EUR 10 K Coup de Coeur Prize for its AI-powered personalised learning tool.
The competition, launched by Orange in 2011, continues to spotlight Africa’s most promising impact entrepreneurs.
