SA’s SwiftVEE Raises Series A To Expand Online Livestock Trading Platform

South African agritech company SwiftVEE, which describes itself as Africa’s largest online livestock trading platform, has closed a Series A funding round, with final capital deployment contingent on the completion of pipeline opportunities.

Launched in 2019, the startup has grown into a dominant force in the continent’s multi-billion-rand livestock market, facilitating more than USD 100 M in livestock and game transactions annually through hundreds of online auctions.

The round brings in a powerful mix of new backers, including former Old Mutual CEO Iain Williamson, venture firm HAVAÍC, and private equity investor EXEO Capital, alongside existing shareholders such as Mike Kirsten, Carlo Dickson, and Zire Africa. SwiftVEE will channel the fresh capital into new African markets while expanding embedded fintech, insuretech, and data solutions across its trading platforms.

SwiftVEE currently operates across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia, with international buyer syndicates spanning North America, Europe, the UAE, Asia and Australia.
