Nigeria’s Terra Industries Raises Additional USD 22 M To Scale African Defense Tech

African defense technology startup Terra Industries has raised an additional USD 22 M in funding, led by Lux Capital, extending its previously announced USD 11.75 M round to USD 34 M in total.

Founded in 2024 by Nathan Nwachuku and Maxwell Maduka, Terra Industries builds autonomous security systems designed to protect Africa’s critical infrastructure across land, air, and maritime environments.

Other investors in the round include 8VC, Nova Global, and Resiliience17 Capital, which was founded by Flutterwave CEO Olugbenga Agboola.

The company, now valued at over USD 100 M, designs and manufactures drones, sentry towers, unmanned ground vehicles, and its proprietary ArtemisOS platform, enabling real-time threat detection and coordinated response.

Terra says its technology is already deployed across multiple African countries, securing infrastructure assets valued at roughly USD 11 B. The new capital will be used to expand manufacturing capacity in Nigeria, accelerate deployments across Africa, and grow engineering and commercial teams globally.
