Impact venture capital firm 3IF Ventures has reached a USD 12 M first close of its Inclusive Insurance Investment Fund, a dedicated vehicle backing insurtech startups across Africa.
The fund is co-anchored by FSD Africa Investments (FSDAi) and reinsurer ZEP-RE, and is targeting a final close of USD 30 M. It will invest from pre-seed to Series B, combining equity funding with a technical assistance facility to support operations, distribution, and product design.
Founded by Anthony Chaillet and Mario Wilhelm, 3IF Ventures plans to build a portfolio of 15–20 companies focused on climate resilience, agriculture, digital health, and SME protection.
The fund aims to address Africa’s significant insurance gap, where over a billion people remain uninsured, while deploying catalytic and blended finance structures to crowd in private capital and scale insurtech innovation.
