CreditChek, a Nigerian credit infrastructure startup, has raised USD 600 K in funding to expand its credit data network across East Africa.
Founded in 2021 by Kingsley Ibe and Lionel Orishane, CreditChek provides a unified API that aggregates data from credit bureaus, financial institutions, and alternative data providers, enabling lenders to assess borrower risk in real time.
The round was led by Janngo Capital, with participation from Assembly Investors, Vastly Valuable Ventures, and Unipeg Capital. CreditChek plans to deepen integrations with banks, microfinance institutions, and fintech lenders across East Africa.
Having previously raised a USD 240 K pre-seed in 2022, the startup now enters the expansion phase after processing more than USD 60 M in credit applications across 1 million unique profiles and achieving profitability in Nigeria, positioning itself as a key credit infrastructure provider for African financial services.
