Africa50’s Alliance for Green Infrastructure in Africa Project Development Fund (AGIA-PD) has secured an additional USD 50 M from international development finance institutions to increase early-stage investment in climate-resilient infrastructure projects across Africa.
The fund, managed by Africa50, targets USD 400 M and aims to generate up to USD 10 B in bankable green infrastructure opportunities. New investors include Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), Italy’s development cooperation institution, and Proparco, the private-sector financing arm of France’s AFD Group.
AGIA-PD reached its first close at USD 118 M in August 2025, backed by institutions including the African Development Bank, KfW, BOAD, FCDO, Soros Economic Development Fund, and African Climate Foundation. The fund focuses on accelerating Africa’s energy transition and developing scalable, climate-resilient infrastructure.
