South African AI Startup Tennsa Secures USD 61 K Pre-Seed For Its Business Intelligence Platform
South African AI Startup Tennsa Secures USD 61 K Pre-Seed For Its Business Intelligence Platform

South African AI startup Tennsa has secured more than ZAR 1 M (USD 61 K) from Oakvale Invest, becoming the first portfolio company of the Africa-focused AI pre-seed fund.

Founded by Rivar Maharaj, the Cape Town-based startup is developing Tennsa OS, an AI-powered business intelligence platform designed for small and medium-sized businesses. The platform connects to the systems businesses already use, analyses their operations, and highlights decisions and actions that require attention.

Tennsa says its approach is focused on helping business owners reduce operational complexity rather than replacing human decision-making. Oakvale Invest said Tennsa’s locally built product, early execution, and focus on African businesses aligned with its investment strategy. The investment marks Oakvale’s first portfolio deal as it seeks to back early-stage AI companies across Africa.
