SA’s HisWay Labs Secures Octoco Investment To Expand Rail Monitoring Technology Globally

South African rail technology company HisWay Labs has secured strategic investment from Octoco Group to support the international expansion of its TrackView rail-integrity monitoring system.

Founded in 2018 and based in Cape Town, South Africa, HisWay Labs develops rail infrastructure technology designed for harsh operating environments. Its solar-powered TrackView sensors contain no copper cabling or batteries, reducing exposure to theft while enabling continuous monitoring of rail integrity and train positioning.

The system has received certification and product type approval from PRASA and has been commercially deployed in partnership with Siemens Mobility. TrackView is also undergoing field trials in the United States, while HisWay Labs is pursuing European partnerships through its participation at InnoTrans in Germany. The company did not disclose the investment amount.
