Ghanaian Fintech Zeepay Acquires Mangwee Mobile Money

Ghanaian fintech Zeepay has acquired a 51% stake in Mangwee Mobile Money, a mobile money transfer platform that aims to increase financial inclusion, especially in rural areas in Zambia.

The deal becomes one of the most notable deals involving two indigenous African fintechs that deal in mobile money operations. Zeepay becomes the largest shareholder in the entity.

Zeepay is one of the leading money mobile payment platforms that facilitates payments at retail point. The fintech aims to connect digital assets such as mobile money wallets, cards, ATMs, bank accounts and digital tokens to international money transfer operators, payments, subscriptions, international airtime and refugee payments.
