Mali Startup Oko Finance Raises USD 1.2 Mn For Regional Expansion

Oko Finance, an insuretech startup for agribusiness in Mali, has closed an investment round of USD 1.2 Mn. Newfund and ResiliAnce led the round with participation from Corps Ventures, Techstars, ImpactAssets, and RaSa.

The startup uses new technologies in satellite imagery and weather forecasting to simplify and automatize claim management, creating low-cost crop insurance for smallholder farms. Oko plans to use the new funds to expand its services into Ivory Coast to cover relevant stakeholders in the country.
