South African Talk360 Raises USD 1.4 M Pre-Series A

South African calling app Talk360 raised USD 1.4 M in a pre-series A round led by HAVAIC. The company plans to expand its in-house payments platform to external companies across the continent. This payments platform will integrate all locally available payment methods and currencies across Africa, along with over one million cash points of sale, he explains.

Founded in 2016 by Hans Osnabrugge, Jorne Schamp, and Dean Hiine, Talk360 is a calling app that enables affordable international calls via voice-over-internet protocol. To reach any number globally, only the initiator needs the app and internet connectivity.

The startup raised a seed round of USD 7 M in 2022 in two tranches. The round included HAVAÍC, 4Di Capital, and executives such as Gaston Aussems (ex-Mollie), Robert Kraal (ex-Adyen), Gabriel de Montessuss (president of WorldPay International), and Marnix van der Ploeg (ex-Booking.com and EQT), Allan Gray E2 Ventures (AGEV), Kalon Venture Partners, E4E Africa, and Endeavor.
