GoMetro Secures USD 190 K Grant from UK Freight Innovation Fund

South African-founded GoMetro has been awarded a USD 190 K grant from the UK Freight Innovation Fund, a program funded by the UK Department for Transport (DfT) and delivered by Connected Places Catapult, the UK’s innovation accelerator for cities and transport. This grant follows GoMetro’s recent Series A funding of USD 11 M led by Zenobē Energy and Futuregrowth Asset Management.

Founded in 2014, GoMetro is a B2B SaaS fleet management company that offers EV-FIT, an electric vehicle (EV) feasibility and planning solution powered by Bridge, the company’s telematics aggregation platform. EV-FIT assists fleet operators in transitioning to electric vehicles by tailoring plans to each fleet’s specific operational needs.

Telematics data is crucial in this process, providing insights into key metrics such as daily mileage and idle times at depots. These insights inform vehicle specifications and charging infrastructure decisions, including battery capacity and chargers’ number, power, and location.
