Morocco-based urban mobility startup Enakl has raised USD 1.4 M in a pre-seed funding round led by Catalyst Fund. Renew Capital, Digital Africa, Station F, and 15 angel investors participated.
Founded in 2022 by Samir Bennani and Charles Pommarede and later joined by Ahmed Omrane, Enakl provides sustainable and collective transport solutions tailored to emerging markets. By leveraging Transport-as-a-Service (TaaS) technologies and integrating them with traditional local transport options like shared taxis, Enakl aims to offer affordable, reliable, and convenient alternatives to public transport in growing urban centres.
The startup focuses on addressing urban transportation challenges through AI-driven route optimization, ensuring its services are efficient and adaptable to population needs. Enakl’s approach prioritizes sustainability, safety, and comfort, positioning it as a viable option for underserved populations in emerging cities.
The newly secured funding will enable Enakl to strengthen its presence in Casablanca, broaden its service reach, and further develop its technology to optimize urban mobility. The investment aligns with Enakl’s mission to transform transportation in emerging markets, addressing critical mobility gaps while promoting sustainability.4o
