Cairo-based AI speech technology company Intella has secured USD 12.5 M in an oversubscribed Series A round led by Prosus, with participation from 500 Global, Wa’ed Ventures, and HearstLab. The startup specialises in dialectal Arabic speech recognition and conversational AI, serving enterprise contact centres across the MENA region.
Founded in 2021 by Nour AlTaher and Omar Mansour, Intella offers highly accurate speech-to-text and voice AI tools tailored to over 25 Arabic dialects, achieving a record 95.73% accuracy rate. Its flagship product, the AI agent Ziila, helps businesses improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
The new funding will accelerate R&D, hiring, and regional expansion, supporting Intella’s vision to become the leading AI speech platform for the Arabic-speaking world. The latest funding round follows its USD 3.4 M Pre-Series A in 2923, which followed a prior USD 1 M seed round.
“We’re turning customer conversations into strategic assets,” said AlTaher.
