Community Wolf, a South African startup using AI to modernise public safety, has acquired Namola, which boasts the country’s most widely used emergency-response app.
The deal merges two of South Africa’s most recognisable safety platforms—Community Wolf’s real-time community intelligence network and Namola’s nationwide professional emergency response—into one integrated safety ecosystem.
Community Wolf, which raised funding earlier this year, allows citizens to report crime or suspicious activity via WhatsApp, feeding its AI-driven map of neighbourhood threats. Namola, powered by emergency-tech provider AURA, connects users to police, medical and security responders across the country.
Namola will continue operating as a standalone app, but the combined model aims to deliver faster detection, smarter coordination and more reliable emergency assistance. Community Wolf says the acquisition strengthens its mission to make modern, community-connected safety accessible to all South Africans.
