SA’s Orca Fraud Raises USD 2.35 M Seed To Expand Real-Time Fraud Intelligence Platform

Cape Town-based fraud prevention startup Orca Fraud has raised USD 2.35 M in an oversubscribed seed round to expand its real-time fraud monitoring infrastructure across Africa and other emerging markets. The round, which follows its USD 550 K pre-seed in 2024, was led by Norrsken22, with participation from Enza Capital, CV VC Africa, and OneDayYes.

Founded by Thalia Pillay and Carla Wilby, the company provides real-time transaction monitoring technology that embeds intelligence directly into live payment flows. The platform helps banks, fintechs, telecom operators, and payment providers detect and prevent fraud without slowing transactions.

Orca Fraud currently monitors over USD 5 B in monthly transaction volume across more than 70 countries, reflecting rising demand for fraud prevention tools as digital payments scale across emerging markets.
