Vienna-based VC firm Speedinvest has secured a EUR 40 M (~USD 46 M) commitment from EIB Global for its dedicated Speedinvest Africa Fund, targeting a total size of EUR 200 M (~USD 230 M).
Structured as a limited partner investment, the commitment is designed to catalyse additional institutional capital at a time when emerging market fundraising remains constrained. The fund will back seed to Series A startups across fintech and fintech-enabled sectors including payments, lending, health, education, and mobility across North and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Speedinvest points to portfolio success stories like Moove, alongside investments in FairMoney and Khazna, as validation of its Africa thesis.
