Kenya’s Flowcart & Nigeria’s Bumpa Raise Undisclosed Funding From Jobtech Alliance

Kenya’s Flowcart and Nigeria’s Bumpa have secured undisclosed funding from Jobtech Alliance, following its research into digital tools for microenterprises across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Rather than building new marketplaces, Jobtech is backing startups that layer structure onto existing informal commerce systems.

Bumpa focuses on point-of-sale and business management tools, while Flowcart leverages AI-powered conversational commerce via WhatsApp to streamline sales and distribution.

The bet is that Africa’s commerce won’t be rebuilt but reorganised, and the winners will be the platforms that make informal systems more efficient, not obsolete.
