Egyptian Biotech Reme-D Raises USD 1.45 M Pre-Series A To Expand Molecular Diagnostics

Egyptian healthtech startup Reme-D has raised USD 1.45 M in a Pre-Series A round to expand production capacity, strengthen its molecular diagnostics portfolio, and develop new tests for genetic diseases and cancer.

The round was led by Anara Impact Capital, with participation from the Global Innovation Fund (GIF), Africa Health Ventures, and other investors.

Founded in 2023 by Salma Tammam, the Cairo-based startup develops and manufactures molecular diagnostic tests for diseases including tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis, and HPV.

The new funding will increase Reme-D’s manufacturing capacity tenfold, support regional expansion, and broaden its product offering. The company has developed 30 diagnostic products, supplied over 550,000 tests across Egypt, Kenya, and Sudan, and previously secured USD 500 K from GIF earlier this year.
