Moment, a Cape Town-headquartered pan-African fintech, has raised USD 22 M in a Series A round led by AlphaCode Venture Partners, with follow-on backing from General Catalyst and MultiChoice, and new investment from Canal+.
Founded by Joel Yarbrough, the company provides payment infrastructure that enables enterprises to collect payments across cards, bank transfers, mobile money, e-wallets, recurring debits, and in-person channels.
Since its launch, Moment has raised USD 55 M and says it processes 600,000 transactions daily for 10 million users each month across Africa. The new funding will be used to strengthen its payment network, enhance its platform, and accelerate expansion across the continent, targeting large enterprises with omnichannel payment collection and revenue retention solutions.
