Zambian Honey Producer Wuchi Wami Secures Investment From Private Equity Firm

Wuchi Wami, a Zambian honey producer founded in 2018 by Harry Malichi, has received an undisclosed investment from Inside Capital Partners, a private equity manager based in Mauritius.

Based in Zambia, the company sources organic, single-origin Miombo honey from rural beekeepers, processes and packages it, and sells to retailers and food manufacturers in Zambia and across Southern Africa.

Wuchi Wami works with more than 6,000 smallholder beekeepers in North-Western Province and has deployed over 19,000 top-bar hives through its supply network.

The investment will support expanded processing and packing capacity, growth of its retail and private-label businesses, and a broader beekeeper network.

The company also promotes modern beekeeping practices aimed at increasing rural incomes and protecting Miombo woodlands, with its programme reportedly helping save more than 125,000 trees.
