MTN And Microsoft Partner To Create Scalability For SMEs
In a move to better create scalable opportunities for Small and Medium Enterprises, MTN Nigeria and Microsoft signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the mission to drive growth in the startup sector of Nigeria.
The collaboration will amalgamate and leverage the technologies of Microsoft and the innovative expertise of MTN, in what will create substantial value propositions for the SMEs segment. These propositions will attend to the problems these startups are facing around capability development, access to relevant markets and business networks across Africa. They will also address some of their challenges through the creation of innovative solutions.
The signing of the MoU took place at the office of Microsoft in the Civic Tower area of Victoria Island, Lagos State, recently. Top executives from both parties were present, including Onyinye Ikenna-Emeka, the General Manager of MTN’s Enterprise Marketing, who expressed her company’s commitment to the success of businesses, whether they are SMEs, large enterprises or in the ones in the public sector.
In recognition of the substantial contributions SMEs have and will make to the country, Ikenna-Emeka conveyed the strategic positioning of MTN by partnering with SMEs to create bespoke solutions specially doctored to help grow and sustaining other Small and Medium Enterprises in Nigeria.
Elaborating on the support MTN has for SMEs, Ikenna-Emeka said that the company “Launched the MTN Man-In-The-Box initiative to further demonstrate out devotion to businesses’ development and their sustained growth.” She as well informed that the initiative was engineered to create and sustain awareness for MTN’s Enterprise Business and its focus to provide and facilitate access to technology, new markets, information and funds for SMEs.
Remarking, the Country General Manager of Microsoft Nigeria, Akin Banuso, said Microsoft’s “Approach has been one of empowerment and collaboration. We liaise with SMEs, and as we learn from then, we are more geared to bring about tailor-made solutions to the issues they face daily. We are elated about this collaboration and are looking forward to assisting with the Microsoft 4Afrika initiative. This implies that we can empower them to transform their businesses and be more productive and competitive digitally”.
According to Ikenna-Emeka, everyone deserves a connected life, and in making this notion a reality, MTN is in the development and delivery of solutions that transform the operations of businesses. This will go into ways to transform business operations, thus introducing efficiencies, bettering productivity and enhancing overall organizational effectiveness.
