Doing business is easier than before with the help of the internet. You can easily access your target audience wherever they are all over the world. You don’t have to be in the same physical location with your customers before they make a purchase from you.

As a business owner, you have to leverage digital marketing to the fullest; if you don’t, you are definitely leaving money on the table.

However, before you effectively leverage digital marketing, you need to have the right digital marketing strategy in place. How can you be a growth hacker?

First, get clear about your mission and vision as a startup. Who are you? How do you help people and what are the things you hope to achieve in the future? In addition, you have to be clear about your Unique Selling Point so that your customers would be able to differentiate you from your competitors.

You also need to understand your target audience. Who are they? Where are they located? What is their age bracket and what are their likes and dislikes, their lifestyle, occupation, attitudes? Etc. If you don’t understand your target audience, you won’t be able to serve them well. Next, you need to develop a customer persona for each unique type of customer you have or intend to have.

Research is next. You’ve known your target audience and created the right customer persona; then you need to conduct the proper market research. You have to be sure your customers want what you are offering. You also have to have an understanding of the current trends and practices in the market. According to CBINSIGHTS, one of the top reasons for startups failure is “no market need.” What is the use of a product that your target audience doesn’t have the market need for?

What platforms would you use? This is the next thing to consider. Based o your product and target audience, you have to choose the right platforms to use in connecting with your audience. Most importantly, you need to have a website. If you don’t have a website; it would be difficult to authenticate the credibility of your brand by some of your target audience. You need a website. Next, you need to have an email marketing channel to build your email list. Your email list is also important just like your website. In addition, you need to choose social media channels that would fit your target audience

Once you have selected your channels, you should create budgets for each channel. Research and create the right advertising budget to go along with each channel. Advertising is a must with digital marketing; you have to pay to play.

In conclusion, remember that consistency is key. You have to be consistent in order to see the right results. Your target audience needs to first know you, like you, before they can then trust you with their money.
