With 99 million subscribers across 14 African countries as of March 2019, Airtel Africa plc is hardly the biggest telco on the continent, but it is certainly up there - just behind MTN, Orange, and Vodacom, and probably above Etisalat.

And just like most telcos operating in sub-Saharan Africa specifically, Airtel Africa doesn’t restrict itself to typical telco “boring” stuff like voice, data, and other telecommunication services. Now things are about to get very interesting.
