Internet service provider (ISP) Poa Internet, has received USD 28 Mn in a Series C funding round led by Africa50, bringing the total amount it has raised to date to USD 36 Mn. The round also included the startup’s earliest investors, Novastar Ventures. The startup plans to expand its reach across Africa, starting with Kenya with the new funding.
Poa Internet provides low-cost Internet services to individuals and businesses in Kenya, starting with low and middle-income neighborhoods. The startup offers unlimited data connectivity to its customers and has set up WIFI hotspots across the country where users pay as little as $0.18 to download 1GB of data.
