Ghanaian AI Startup Aya Data Secures USD 900 K in Seed Funding

Aya Data, a Ghana-based artificial intelligence (AI) startup, has raised USD 900 K in a seed funding round led by 54Collective, with participation from a group of angel investors. This follows an earlier USD 300 K pre-seed investment from Microtraction, Savannah Fund, and UK-based investors.

Founded in 2021 by Freddie Monk and Ama Larbi-Siaw, Aya Data helps organizations harness the power of data through AI and Data Science. The startup offers end-to-end services across the AI value chain, employing data collectors, annotators, engineers, and scientists to build, deploy, and optimize computer vision, natural language, and statistical models.

Aya Data supports healthcare, retail, utilities, agriculture, and geospatial industries, developing AI-powered solutions like chat and voice bots and farm management systems to help innovative teams tackle complex challenges.
