Egypt-based supply chain startup Qara has raised USD 2.6 M in funding from undisclosed investors to enhance its operations and expand into Saudi Arabia. Founded in 2021 by Hassan Abouzeed and Khaled Hassan, Qara provides a digital platform that enables product authentication and traceability. It has operations in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Kenya.
The funding will support Qara’s expansion into Saudi Arabia under the National Technology Development Programme’s (NTDP) Relocate Initiative. The company’s offerings include apps such as “Asly,” which allows users to verify product authenticity by scanning unique QR codes. This technology helps businesses combat counterfeiting, protect their revenue, and enhance customer trust.
